Recommending Kicking and Screaming got me to thinking about Mr. Jealousy, another fantastic movie by Noah Baumbach. Much like Wes Anderson, Noah casts quite a few of the same actors from Kicking and Screaming. The very beautiful Annabella Sciorra plays the lead actress as Eric Stolz’s characters girlfriend. Eric Stolz plays a chronically jealous boyfriend who can’t get past his bad habits. Lots of great dialog, lots of hysterical moments, and amazing characters.
Quite possibly my favorite movie on the planet. This is not the Will Ferrel soccer movie of the same name. This came out on 1995, has Parker Posey and Eric Stolz in it. It’s a pretty low budget indie movie centered around college graduates trying to figure out what to do after graduation. Fantastic dialogue, incredible casting, and so many quotable lines. Noah Baumbach has done a number of great movies including Mr. Jealousy, Squid and the Whale, and he helped write the Life Aquatic. I was surprised to see this on Netflix Streaming.
Welcome to my Netflix Recommendations Tumblr site. Last night, I was hanging out with some friends discussing Netflix Streaming and we all were hoping there might be a better way to find out about great shows/movies that are available for streaming. I am hopeful my buds will join me on this tumblr site so I don’t find myself getting hooked on shows like Veronica Mars again.
